Just wanting to remind everyone that although I'm out of touch, it's not by choice! Em, Makenna and I are all comfortable in our new home and certainly invite our family and friends to stop by to say hi!
Unfortunately, I will have to remain in my dungeon studying. All I have been thinking about lately is the exam coming up that I've been preparing for for the last two years! Aaaaaagh. We wish everyone the best and will expect to post pictures soon.
Emily, Makenna and I went to LA for the day this Mother's Day! We started at the Zoo, went to the La Brea Tar Pits and then to the LA Farmer's Market downtown. It was a fun, relaxing trip for the three of us to get out and enjoy Southern California just a little bit more before we return home at the end of the month!
Makenna had a ton of fun and probably experienced more SMELLS than ever before in her life... Now that I'm thinking about it, it was a lot of different smells for all of us. All the different smells at the zoo is a no brainer, but we also experienced the smell of the Tar Pits, LA in general, and then all the different foods at the market. Buuuut all we are able to share with everyone are the pictures so, ENJOY!

Today Makenna is 8 weeks old! We decided to celebrate with a photo shoot in her honor.
She has been growing fast and gorgeously!! Some of her recent milestones have been smiling, falling asleep by herself for naps and bedtime, holding her head up herself (most of the time anyway), and she is beginning to experiment with her voice. She has been such a joyful baby thus far, as you will see in the pictures. Enjoy!! – there are a lot of pictures :)
Makenna had a wonderful Easter! Early that morning mommy and daughter drove down to Orange County to enjoy the day with Emily’s Uncle’s family. Unfortunately daddy had a test the next morning and wasn’t able to go. We went to the afternoon Mass, it was Makenna’s first time at church!! She did wonderfully & slept the whole time in the “wrap” thanks to the beautiful music. The church overlooked the Laguna beaches, it was breathtaking. We enjoyed the rest of the day with the family at their home. The earthquake was the highlight of the day though haha j/k!
Later that evening we went home to daddy for a nice Easter dinner and quiet night. We had a “second Easter” yesterday with daddy. Makenna and Garrett were able to have some quality time together while mommy made some yummy deviled eggs!
And here are a couple pictures of Garrett after his exam with Makenna. They were peaceful, but Makenna spit up all over his shoulder! After we got her cleaned up we got a better picture ;0)
Isn’t she gorgeous!!! We tell each other every day how blessed we are to have her. She is the most perfect baby we could of ever asked for in every way! And yes, she is a total Diva already!! haha.
Makenna is 6 weeks now and we thought we would share a few more pictures again! She’s smiling and talking more and more every day! Her baby acne is almost gone but we found out at the doctors that she has eczema all over her face – we treat it now twice a day. Unfortunately, this runs in both sides of the family…ugh. And as of a few days ago, she can wear her 0-3 clothes, yay!!! Although, still in the newborn diapers. She’s mommy and daddy’s petite, sensitive little flower :) We enjoy every second with her!! This week we took her to Downtown Disney (to see her Aunts), and to the farmers market. (we will post Downtown Disney photos later on)
Makenna got her first tutu!! Theresa Rubadue sent it. She loves it!! Can’t you tell???
Here are some other misc. pictures as well…just because we love her SOO much!! Makenna is 5 weeks in these pictures. We took a walk along a trail the other day, & the flowers were beautiful, it was a great walk!
Another picture of her fast asleep after a long day!
HURRAY!!! Makenna and Emily (& Kimo) will be traveling home to WA on April 14th!! We are coming home for a visit so all our family & friends can finally meet Makenna. We will be staying for an undetermined amount of time because I will be looking for a home for us!! Which means, it’s almost time for our move home!! Again, HURRAY!!!
Both Grandparents homes have a nursery for Makenna and we already bought a car up there, so we are set and ready for the trip :) We are so thankful to have such wonderful family, and can’t wait to see (& meet) everyone! Makenna has been missing her Grandparents and is VERY excited to meet her Grandpa Oni (my dad)!!! Please let us know if you would like to see us and when the best time for you would be. We are going to try and see everyone before we have to come back to SoCal, but again, we will be coming back as soon as I find a house…So the sooner you want to see us the better :)
Here are some family photo’s she wanted to share with everyone:
